The new water bill is here...and the Fine Citizens of Fate rejoiced! Congratulations city, you've almost made it to the 21st century! What's next? Being able to pay our bill online? I know, I know, I should be thrown in the loony bin for that thought. That idea is pure craziness in this day in age. Maybe the cost in these new bill is the reason behind the 10 day grace period before they shut you water off.
On a side note the monthly usage graph is a nice feature. Except it points out the "Bill Anomaly" of last August.
So City, I know you said that there was nothing wrong with the outrageous bills we received last August, but answer me this.... In a year of usage my household averaged less than 4,200 gallons a month. and all of a sudden we use over 20,000 gallons???? And not only did it happen to my house hold but many many households all over the city?? That is ludicrous!

Don't pay your bill? Lose your water...
Well the City of Fate has drawn their line in the sand. A notice has been posted in the Current Developments section of the City's web page. If you don't pay your water bill by the 25th of the month they'll turn off your water.
Wow the economic times must be hitting the City. No warnings??? Only a a 10 day window till they shut off your water???? That is absurd! Especially seeing how reliable the post office is in Fate!

City Council Minutes
I don't know how may other residents look at our fine City's webpage, but looking today I see they are very behind with updating the Fate City Council minutes. Maybe the city doesn't realize that Fate isn't a small town any more where Cousin Jim and Aunt May spread the word of the city business at the local feed store.
The last minutes posted is from November 17 last year. I feel this is unacceptable! With this day in age how long does it take someone to type up the minutes and upload them?
I know the posting and distribution of minutes has been brought up during City Council meetings, and the people were told to write a letter requesting the minutes (which the people did with no luck). At least the city seems concerned...
Come on City, can your residents get an update?

Fate Cleanup Day
Well today was "Clean Up Day" for the City of Fate...
As I was driving through our booming metropolis of a town I was shocked to see a traffic jam on our beautiful "main street". Many of our residents were taking advantage of the clean up day, dumping their yard waste and general junk off to be hauled away. While I'm glad that the City provided such a service, it is sad how they implemented it. The two dump trucks on either side of the road and the line of cars andtrucks succeed in blocking "Main Street" and the volunteer fire department in the process.
All I can say is it was a good thing there wasn't a fire...

Economic downturn
Well our little town made it big time! The Dallas Morning News reported that the economic down turn is hitting little towns out side Dallas like ours. In Fate "Building-permit revenues projected to fall by as much as 40 percent this year".
